Cha Tae Hyun and Zo In Sung, two of South Korea’s most respected actors, have officially launched their own entertainment agency, Basecamp Company. The announcement was made on April 18, 2025, marking a new chapter in their careers after leaving their long-time agencies earlier this year.
The agency’s name reflects its mission—to provide a stable and supportive environment for artists, much like a base camp offers safety for climbers. Both actors emphasized that the company was founded on their two-decade-long friendship and mutual trust.
A New Beginning After Departing Previous Agencies
Cha Tae Hyun previously worked with Blossom Entertainment, which he co-founded, for 13 years before his contract ended in January 2025. Zo In Sung also spent 13 years with NS ENM (formerly IOK Company) before deciding not to renew his contract in March 2025.
The duo’s decision to start their own agency comes after years of collaboration, including their work together on the tvN variety show Unexpected Business (2021). Their strong bond and shared vision for artist management led to the creation of Basecamp Company.
A Team Built on Long-Term Trust
The agency’s staff consists of industry professionals who have worked closely with Cha Tae Hyun and Zo In Sung for at least 7 to 8 years. This level of loyalty is rare in the entertainment industry and highlights the actors’ commitment to maintaining a supportive and reliable work environment.
“Basecamp Company will be a place where artists can feel secure and prepare for their next steps, just like a base camp supports climbers before their ascent,” the agency stated.
