Girls’ Generation member and actress Seohyun has officially ended her contract with Namoo Actors, marking the conclusion of a six-year partnership. The agency confirmed the news on April 24, 2025, stating that both parties mutually agreed to part ways after thoughtful discussions. Seohyun, who joined Namoo Actors in March 2019, previously renewed her contract in 2022 but will now continue her career as a free agent .
Namoo Actors shared in their official statement: “After thoughtful discussions, we have mutually agreed to conclude our management relationship with actress Seohyun. We are truly grateful to Seohyun, who has grown into a remarkable actress through our years of mutual trust. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the fans who have shown constant love and support for her.” .
Seohyun initially signed with Namoo Actors after leaving SM Entertainment in 2019 to focus on her acting career. During her time with the agency, she starred in several notable projects, including the Netflix film Love and Leashes (2022), the drama Jinxed at First, and the historical series Thief: Sound of the Sword. Her performances earned critical acclaim, including a Best New Actress nomination at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards.
Fans can look forward to seeing Seohyun in multiple upcoming projects. She will appear in the film Holy Night: Demon Hunters, set to release on April 30, 2025, alongside actors Ma Dong-seok and Lee David. Additionally, she will star in the KBS2 drama The First Night With the Duke, premiering on June 11, 2025, and the film Seeking The King, expected later this year.
